ACCESSIBILITY AT HILL CITY

We know that everyone has a home and a role within the church!
And that absolutely stands true for people with disabilities. We’d love to welcome, support, and champion any individuals, kids, or families that are affected by disabilities.

Accessibility on Sunday Mornings—

Parking

  • We have 13 designated accessible parking spaces!

  • When you arrive, general parking is available in 2 separate parking lots and along the street. For accessible parking spaces, you’ll drive to the lot closest to our building! Signs will direct you and our Parking Team will point anyone who asks or designates a need towards the front row of accessible parking spaces.

  • From here, you’ll find a sidewalk ramp up to our front entrance. To enter through our kids entrance, we have curb ramp access.

Our Downstairs Space

  • For our space, the lobby and auditorium are all on one level. When you arrive, we have designated some wheelchair accessible locations throughout the right side of our Auditorium. Feel free to ask a Guest Services member to point them out - we’ve done our best to mark spots that provide an easy view of the stage. These spots come with a reserved chair, so that anyone attending who is a wheelchair user has the option to sit with another guest.

  • Wheelchair-accessible bathroom stalls are included in each restroom.

Sunday Service

  • Our services are about an hour. They begin with live music, followed by a message, and sometimes ending with an additional song.

  • For a lower sensory experience, we have ear plugs and kid-sized sound reducing headphones available - find these by asking a volunteer at our water cart or in the sound booth at the back of the auditorium.

  • Our service will also stream in the lobby, where the room is quieter and less crowded. Please note that some kids and friends do hang out in this room!

On a Sunday, feel free to ask our Guest Services Team if you have questions, need help getting seated or finding any other accommodations!

Hill City Kids

  • Our Kids environments are inclusive for all abilities!

  • We have background-checked volunteers designated and trained to be one-on-one buddies to children with disabilities. These volunteers love to partner with kids and get them participating as much as possible! If you have a kid who would benefit from a “buddy,” let us know by emailing Nicole at nicole@hillcityrva.com! We can’t wait to meet them!

  • Our Kids Sensory Room is available for any child who may need extra accommodations. This room is filled with lighting, activities, and seating that help kids with disabilities feel secure. Our “buddies” are in and out of this room on most Sundays!

*Interested in being a “buddy” on Sundays? Email nicole@hillcityrva.com to get trained.
